David Cronenberg's MAPS TO THE STARS has a Trailer

A trailer for David Cronenberg's new film Maps to the Stars has been released. Ss you might expect from a Cronenberg movie, it looks insane and weird in the best possible ways. The film is described as a "contemporary tale exploring the demons of celebrity obsession in our society."

The film has a great cast of actors that includes Robert Pattinson, Julianne Moore, John Cusack, Olivia Williams, and Mia Wasikowska. Here's the synopsis:

The film follows the lives of the Weiss family, an archetypical Hollywood dynasty. Dr. Stafford Weiss is a psychotherapist who has made a fortune with his self-help manuals, and his wife Cristina manages the career of their thirteen-year-old son, child star Benjie, who recently came out of a drug rehabilitation program that he entered at the age of nine. Their daughter Agatha, completely shunned by her family, has recently been released from a Florida sanatorium, where she was admitted for the treatment of criminal pyromania. She travels back to Los Angeles in hopes of reconnecting with her family, and befriends Jerome Fontana, a limo driver who is an aspiring actor and screenwriter. Using her friendship with Carrie Fisher, whom she befriended on Twitter, Agatha becomes the personal assistant to Havana Segrand, a fading actress and one of Stafford’s clients who is having issues with purported sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of her now-deceased mother, Clarice, and she wants to shoot a remake of the 1960s movie that made her mother famous, but visions of Clarice's ghost have come to haunt Havana at night.

I've always enjoyed Cronenberg's work. I like his crazy style of storytelling, and even though this looks different from anything he's done before, it still seems like he manages to interestingly and boldly push the story forward.
