David Dastmalchian Says He Wants to Play a Bond Villain Someday in a 007 Film
Actor David Dastmalchian has a lot of range. The guy has been in every big franchise, from DC’s The Dark Knight, Gotham, The Flash, and Suicide Squad, to Marvel’s Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (as two different characters), and the animated series What If…?. He’s been in Dune, Oppenheimer, and about eight other things just this year, but he has his eye on another franchise that he’d love to be a part of!
In a recent interview with /Film, the actor said:
“Trust me when I say that I can bring something to an enemy of 007, whether he or she or they be played in a way that no one has ever seen Bond brought to life before, which is of course the way that you guys always do it. I think there’s no one to push Bond to the limits of their capabilities the way that I could, and I would love to do it. So there’s my pitch to them. I can’t wait for them to read this. And then I will owe you when or if I ever get that role, I guess 10%.
Dastmalchian is such a cool guy. I got to interview him a few years ago for his comic, Count Crowley, and he just chatted all about his love of comics and comic book movies. His career couldn’t have happened to a bigger fan, or a nicer person. I think he would be fantastic in the role of a James Bond villain! I hope to see it happen one day. For now, you can check out Dastmalchian in his latest, the horror flick, The Last Voyage of the Demeter, in theaters now.
