David Duchovny (The X-Files) has co-written and will star opposite Laverne Cox (Clean Slate) in Soapbox, a satirical comedy following an aging soap opera star who finds himself caught in the absurdities of today’s culture wars. Further details as to the plot are being kept under wraps. Andrew Jay Cohen (Neighbors, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates) is directing from a script written by Duchovny and Palm Springs helmer Max Barbakow.

Other cast members include West Duchovny (Painkiller), Randall Park (Fresh Off the Boat), Jimmi Simpson (Westworld), and Jennifer Grey (Dirty Dancing). Production kicked off in Los Angeles earlier this month.
