David Fincher and Brad Pitt Officially Confirmed for WORLD WAR Z 2

Paramount Pictures new studio head Jim Gianopulos is already getting to work on some big projects for the studio. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he spoke his plans moving forward with World War Z 2.  Gianopulos not only confirmed that director David Fincher and actor Brad Pitt are attached to the project, but it is also in "advanced development."

Back in April, Fincher was reportedly close to a deal to direct the sequel, but now we have confirmation from Paramount's Studio head. Fincher hasn’t directed a feature film since Gone Girl. He has turned his attention to television lately, recently shooting the Netflix pilot Mind Hunters

It won't be the first time Fincher and Pitt have worked together on a project, World War Z 2 would mark their fourth film together, having previously worked on Se7en, Fight Club, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Although there is no official word about when World War Z sequel would begin production, sources close to Variety say that it would probably begin in the first quarter of 2018.
