David Fincher and The Screenwriter of SEVEN Teaming Back Up for THE KILLER with Michael Fassbender

David Fincher has a new film project that he’s set to direct for Netflix, and he’s returning to a genre that he’s very familiar with. The film is titled The Killer, and it’s an adaptation of Alexis Nolent’s graphic novel series.

Fincher is also re-teaming with Seven screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker, who will be writing the script. It’s also being reported that Michael Fassbender is in talks to star in the film!

The story follows “a cold-blooded assassin who begins to have a psychological crisis in a world with no moral compass.” Here’s the description from the book:

“A man solitary and cold, methodical and unencumbered by scruples or regrets, the killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target. And yet the longer he waits, the more he thinks he's losing his mind, if not his cool. A brutal, bloody and stylish noir story of a professional assassin lost in a world without a moral compass, this is a case study of a man alone, armed to the teeth and slowly losing his mind.”

This seems like it’ll be a fantastic project for Fincher and Walker to develop together, especially with the stylistic noir themes from the comic. It’ll be cool to see how they end up bringing this story to life.
