David Harbour Talks About Reuniting With Millie Bobby Brown for Their Upcoming Netflix Spy Series
After working together closely for nearly a decade on the mega-hit Netflix series Stranger Things, David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown’s characters parted ways at the end of the show, and it was sad to see.
Brown’s character Eleven escaped from a lab in the first episode of the show, and after being on the run, was taken in by Harbour’s Hopper, who became a father figure to her for the rest of the show’s run.
The ending of Stranger Things was definitely bittersweet, but Harbour and Brown have signed on to make a new show together, and Harbour has opened up about returning to work with his long-time co-star.
In a recent interview with E! News, the actor teased that he and Brown "can't get enough" of each other despite having played father and daughter across 10 years. "I go anywhere in the world and people know the relationship of Hopper and Eleven. There's something about that I thought was so special."
He went on to say that he "wanted to use the building blocks of the dynamic between me and her" to explore other stories and "build something that was really unique and original. It really is a working relationship, where we love what we bring out in each other," Harbour continued.
"You're in service of a greater story, and we both know how to do that and think about that and talk about that. I love what we have together and I love to be able to see her on a daily basis."
The Netflix show, which has yet to reveal a title, will center around disgraced FBI Agent turned security expert Matt Wolfe (Harbour), who is drawn back into the world he left behind when his estranged daughter Rebecca (Brown), now an FBI agent, vanishes on a mission. In addition to their starring roles, Harbour and Brown, will executive produce of the series.
Emmy-winning Adolescence writer Jack Thorne, who previously worked with Brown on the Enola Holmes movies, wrote the script and is serving as the show’s creator.
"It's very unexpected and we've come up with something that I'm very very proud of," Harbour said of the project. "We've gotten two scripts in already and I'm really, really excited about it."
