David Tennant is a Serial Killer in Promo For The True Crime Limited Series DES
The first promo spot has been released for the upcoming three-part limited true-crime series, Des. David Tennant (Doctor Who, Jessica Jones) stars in the series and takes on the role of real-life serial killer, Dennis Nilsen.
The series is based on Brian Masters’ non-fiction book titled Killing for Company: Case of Dennis Nilsen, the story centers around the 1983 arrest of the infamous Scottish serial killer, “who murdered boys and young men during the late ’70s up until the early ’80s and was undetected for five years. After discovering human remains of flesh and bone clogging the drains nearby 23 Cranley Gardens, Nilsen was finally arrested and convicted at the Old Bailey of six counts of murder and two of attempted then sentenced to life imprisonment and had passed away in prison at the age of 72 in May 2018.”
The story for Des will be told from the point of view of the police and Brian Masters. It will “explore the personal and professional consequences of coming into contact with a man like Nilsen.”
The series also stars Daniel Mays (Line of Duty) as Detective Chief Inspector Peter Jay and Jason Watkins (The Crown) as Masters.
The true crime drama is expected to debut sometime in September.
