DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES - 10 New Photos
20th Century Fox has released ten really cool looking new photos from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. They give us our best look at the apes and humans in the film so far. When talking about the world that the film is set in, director Matt Reeves said,
"We've got apes on horses. There is a sense in the beginning of the movie that apes have inherited the Earth. You see the species as it takes dominion over the planet. It's an ape-world. That's the fun of it."
The sequel has a new cast of human characters that have survived the virus that wipes out most of the population. A few of those characters are played by Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, and Keri Russell, and they reside in a new colony in a post-apocalyptic San Francisco. Reeves went on to talk about the group saying,
"The small group of humans are struggling to come back from devastation, and the apes are fighting for survival. The big question is, can they co-exist?
"We all know it doesn't become Planet of Humans and Apes. It becomes Planet of the Apes. But this is that one moment of time where there is hope for humans."
Andy Serkis also revealed some additional plot information saying that the film will tell the story of two families. One family is human, and the other are evolved apes.
"Caesar not only has a wife, but also an infant son and a teenage son. This film centers around the notion of family — the survival of the family and what lengths you would go to to protect them when life is extremely hard and tough."
I love what I've seen from the movie so far, and It looks like it's going to be a great sequel. The movie comes out on July 11th.
