Dazzler Confirmed to Appear in X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX
It looks like the Marvel X-Men character Dazzler will be making her big screen debut in director Simon Kinberg's X-Men: Dark Pheonix. The character was originally supposed to be teased in X-Men: Apocalypse, but the scene was cut.
The deleted scene followed Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) and Scott Summers (Tye Sheridan) at a record store in the mall where they came across one of Dazzler’s albums. Turner ended up sharing a shot from that scene on Instagram, which you can check out below:
EW confirmed that Dazzler is now set to appear in the film and that she will have a small role. Dazzler is a pop star Dazzler in the Marvel Universe and her mutant power is being able to manipulate light.
A rumor surfaced that Taylor Swift might be playing Dazzler but the report says that no one has been cast in the role yet. It'll be interesting to see who they end up casting and how the character will be utilized in the story.
Dark Phoenix will begin shooting this summer and stars Turner, Sheridan, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Alexander Shipp and Kodi Smit-McPhee. Jessica Chastain is also in talks to play the film’s villain, Shi’ar Empress Lilandra.
