DC Entertainment May Have Found New Writer for BATGIRL on Twitter
Joss Whedon just dropped out of the Batgirl movie, citing an inability to create a story for the film. Then we found out that he was considering an adaptation of “The Million Dollar Debut of Batgirl” for the film.
Some people are upset about this move, while others seem to be happy that he’s not attached to the project anymore. I personally am a little saddened, but if they can find a competent person who can do a good job, then I don’t think we’ve lost out on anything. The loss of a director and writer can hit a studio hard and take up to months to find a new one.
Well, it looks like DC may have lucked out on the writer part though. Roxane Gay, the writer of World of Wakanda, sent out a tweet offering up her services for Batgirl and Vice President of Content Strategy, Michele Wells, responded, telling Gay to contact her.
This has a lot of people excited since some fans have been wanting women to be more involved in this project. My big question is this, will Gay also direct and if not, who will they get?
