DC Entertainment Wants Michael Bay To Direct LOBO and He Has Met With Them

It looks like Michael Bay actually might jump into the DC universe and Warner Bors. is looking to hire him to direct the feature film adaptation of Lobo. If he takes the job, it will be his first real superhero movie. According to The Wrap, the studio think's Lobo "could be their answer to Deadpool" and they think Bay is the guy who will deliver the goods.

I have mixed feeling about Michael Bay taking on this movie. I've enjoyed a lot of his films, but I'm not the biggest fan of how he handled the Transformers franchise. In the middle of his Transformers movie blitz, he made Pain & Gain and 13 Hours, both of which were great movies. If he does end up directing Lobo, I hope that he does less of what he did with Transformers and more of what he has done with his other movies that were actually good.

The report goes on to say that Bay has met with DC to discuss the project and offered some notes  "that Wonder Woman writer Jason Fuchs will incorporate into a rewrite." After that rewrite, the studio will present the new script to Bay in hope that they can close the deal.

Over the past few years, directors like Guy Ritchie and Brad Peyton (San Andreas) were looking to direct the film with Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman producing, but those directors ended up dropping out.

Lobo centers on a blue-skinned, 7-foot-tall, heavily muscled antihero alien who works as an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter.

Would you want to see Micheal Bay direct this movie?
