A lot of DC fans have been wondering if we ever might see another Justice League movie one day. There’s a lot of drama surrounding the first film, and there are now two versions of it. But, it’s been made clear that Warner Bros. does not recognize Zack Snyder’s cut as being canon, so we shouldn’t expect a sequel to that version of the film.

During a recent interview, DC film producer Charles Roven shared some details about his DC movie deal with the studio and how it works. He also said that he thinks there will be another Justice League movie at some point. He shared the following with THR:

“So we worked out an arrangement that I or myself and my team would try to manage a different number of movies. … whether they were sequels or prequels or had some of the same characters — involving anything that had to do with things that branched off of Man of Steel. So if it was a Superman movie that involved Henry [Cavill], I would be involved, at least for a couple more. If it was a Batman-involved product like Batman v Superman or Justice League, I would be involved in those. Suicide Squad, I would be involved in those, up until a certain amount. And that is kind of where we are.”

He then goes on to say that another Justice League movie is a number of years away:

“But [I] still have an affiliation with some more Suicide Squads, which I’m thrilled about. I hope James [Gunn] will, when he’s got some time, come back and see if he’s going to do another one of these, because he did such an amazing job. I would definitely be a part of that. Probably another Justice League, although I think that’s a number of years away.”

If there is another Justice League movie at some point, I can’t help but think it will be completely different than the first two films. I don’t think it will be a sequel either, I think it will be handled in a similar manner to what WB and DC did with James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, kinda like a soft reboot with characters we’re familiar with along with new characters. It probably won’t even address anything that happened in the first film. Three characters from the franchise that I don’t know if we’ll see again include Henry Cavill’s Superman, Ben Affleck’s Batman, and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg.

It’ll be interesting to see how WB does handles the future of Justice League, and we’ll just have to wait and see what that is.
