DC Insider Says JUSTICE LEAGUE SNYDER CUT is a Pipe Dream and Danny Elfman Says it Was Never Finished
Are we still talking about that Justice League Snyder Cut? I guess so! After a recent big push for the release of the film, an insider told Variety that the whole thing is a “pipe dream” and that there’s no way it’s ever happening.” So it seems like fans have just been wasting their money and time on that whole #RelaseTheSnyderCut thing.
On top of that, Justice League composer Danny Elfman says that Snyder never even finished the film. While a guest on The Big Reviewski podcast, he was asked about the project, and said:
“Well, the thing is, he never finished it. So, I don’t know quite how they’d do [a Snyder cut]. He had a tremendous tragedy, which forced him to not finish the film. I don’t quite understand this, because it wasn’t like he was fired, and that there is a Director’s Cut that is a finished movie and that the studio fired him and then hired Joss.”
A few actors in the film claimed to have seen The Snyder Cut, though, so what is that all about? Well, chances are they saw an unfinished version of the cut, with unfinished effects along with storyboard clips of scenes that weren’t shot. It’s probably a very very rough cut.
That being said, the studio insider went on to say that there's "little appetite" at Warner Bros. studio for "spending the millions of dollars it would require to finish visual effects and editing work on Snyder’s version."
So, there ya have it. The Snyder Cut is dead. Unless someone leaks it out… it will most likely never see the light of day.
Will this be the last discussion we ever have regarding The Snyder Cut? Probably not.
