DC Looking to Cast Another Female Superhero in JUSTICE LEAGUE: PART ONE
It appears that Wonder Woman will not be the only female to be in Justice League: Part One. The guys over at Heroic Hollywood have an inside source in who has informed them that DC is looking to fill the role of Mera, Aquaman's significant other.
If you are familiar with Aquaman comics then you know that Mera is probably the most unstable element in his life. She loves him, she hates him, she loves him again, and now she wants to kill him. There is never a dull moment in her life, so it will be exciting to see what part she will play in the Justice League storyline.
HH gives a little insight into what we can expect from Mera in the DC Cinematic Universe:
Mera is considered the Khaleesi of the sea and Aquaman's true love. In the comics, Aquaman as a title in every incarnation had courtly intrigue Game Of Thrones style stuff fighting over the throne. Mera and Aquaman represent feuding factions of Atlanteans and their marriage is the promise of a united Atlantis. The big takeaway is that they're a power duo with a fiery relationship. Mera has been mind controlled against Aquaman or turned against him on multiple occasions. He's been forced to choose between her and his child.
It appears that they have a lot planned for the underwater couple. I am interested to see who they grab for this role. The Justice League cast is pretty strong so far, besides the casting of The Flash, but that is a rant for another time. Anyway, it will be cool to see who will round out the rest of the League.
