DC Movie Plan Was Reportedly Leading to a CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS Event

It’s safe to assume at this point that whatever plans that DC Films president Walter Hamada had for the franchise are no longer fully in play. As you know, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav has thrown everything into chaos over there.

Over the past few years, fans have been wondering what the future of the DCEU would look like with films such as The Flash, Black Adam, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and Shazam! Fury of the Gods, coming out. There was also Batgirl, but we know how that turned out.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hamada’s plans "were said to have included a Crisis on Infinite Earths event." As of right now, that’s up in the air as we wait to see what WB’s new “10-year plan” is. Zaslav hopes this plan will allow the brand to actually compete with what Marvel Studios has been doing.

Zaslav said, “We think we can build a much stronger, sustainable growth business out of DC. As part of that, we are going to focus on quality. We are not going to release any film before it’s ready…DC is something we can make better.”

Hamada almost quit over what happened with Batgirl, but he opted to stay on board to at least see Black Adam through to the end. After that film is released, who knows what he’ll do, or what will happen to him.

Regardless, I’d be curious to see what a Crisis on Infinite Earths movie event would look like. The Flash director Andy Muschietti previously hyped the future of DC films, saying:

"I can't tell you a lot about the future of this, the future of the Multiverse in DC, but I can tell you I'm very excited about it as a filmmaker cracking this acorn and opening the window to new adventures in the Multiverse is super exciting. The Multiverse has been a thing in the comic book world for decades, and decades, and decades, and I think it's a good time to take it into [the movies]. It's also very special that our Multiverse is not just a Multiverse of characters, it's a Multiverse of films. It's a cinematic Multiverse as you might already know by looking at the names that are showing up like Michael Keaton reprising his role as Batman, it's very exciting and one of the reasons that I got closer and closer to this project."

What are your thoughts on Hamada reportedly wanting to make a Crisis on Infinite Earths movie?
