DC's BLACK ADAM Script is Said To Include Hawkman, Atom Smasher and Stargirl
Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have been in development on a Black Adam film for Dwayne Johnson since 2014. One day the movie will happen and we’ll see Johnson suit up as Black Adam, but it won’t be for awhile.
We do have an update to share with you today, though, in regards to the story and the characters that are said to fill it. According to That Hashtag Show, the script for the film, which was written by Adam Sztykiel (Rampage), “seems to be taking some cues from Geoff Johns’ early 2000’s work with the character and sets up a battle of heavyweights as it pits Hawkman against the protector of Khandaq!”
Yep, Carter Hall a.k.a. Hawkman is reportedly in the current script for the film and the studio is looking to cast an actor, 30-39, to take on the role “with an emphasis on landing someone the audience can believe could go toe-to-toe with the Brahma Bull!”
The report also says that DC characters Atom Smasher and Stargirl are also involved with the story. “The two of whom have often been depicted to be in a relationship in the comics. The studio will be searching for talent, 20-29, to play the duo.”
It’ll be fun to see all these characters come together on the big screen in a Black Adam movie. It’ll definitely make things more interesting. The report comments on Hawkman saying that his inclusion indicates “that the studios are at least entertaining the thought of pushing the envelope on the amount of violence we’ll be seeing on screen.”
Last year, producer Hiram Garcia talked about the film saying it was not going to be “softened up” for fans and audiences. “The inclusion of Hawkman would seem to indicate that they’re standing by that claim.”
Black Adam is apparently set to go into production on March of 2020 but the studio has yet to hired a director.
What are your thoughts on Hawkman, Atom Smasher, and Star Girl being included in the Black Adam movie?
