DC's HOUSE OF HORRORS Hires Horror Novelists for New Comic Anthology

Halloween is a great time. You get to dress up and get candy and party. Sometimes, and by sometimes I mean all the time, companies also like to celebrate the holiday by theming things to be more spooky during the month of October. Often it can be cringeworthy, but DC Comics looks like it's doing it right.

DC is going to be releasing an 80-page horror anthology one-shot titled DC House of Horrors. And if you think it's going to be just your run of the mill Superman vs zombies, you've got another thing coming to you.

These anthologies will be written by horror novelists including Brian Keene, Nick Cutter, Ronald Malfi, Bryan Smith, Wrath James White, Mary SanGiovanni, Weston Ochse, and Edward Lee. These guys and gals are some of the greats in horror writing. The comics will focus on the DC characters but reimagined into a horror setting. Think if Clark Kent was a freaky alien instead of an adorable savior or Batman was a vampire. The art even looks freaky cool. The cover above is from comics legend Mike Kaluta.

I can't wait for this to come out. I love seeing reinventions of things, and this looks to be doing it right. DC House of Horror hits comic shops on October 25, 2017.
