DC's JOKER Gets a Fan-Made 70s-Style Trailer Inspired By TAXI DRIVER

The trailers for DC’s upcoming film Joker already seem to have a 1970s movie vibe, but this fan made trailer takes that tone to a whole new level. The trailer gets a heavy 70s style makeover that is inspired by Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver.

I’ve been having some interesting conversations with people about this movie. I’ve heard from people that have seen it say that it’s an incredible, award-worthy movie. Then I’ve talked to people that haven’t seen it that aren’t sold on it. They don’t see the point of it, especially with Batman not being involved.

For me personally, I love the concept of the film. I like that director Todd Phillips did something different, unique, and unexpected. He was thinking outside of the box when he developed this film and wanted to experiment with the character, which is great!

Fans have been asking for comic book movies that push the boundaries and don’t keep doing the same thing over and over again. Well… this is one of those movies!

Taking cue from the wonderful trailers of the 70's, primarily Martin Scorsese "Taxi Driver", JOKER without a doubt deserves the retro treatment. Using Bernard Herrmann's score as well as some re color timing and as a nice 16mm film grain, this trailer demonstrates us how a JOKER movie trailer might look like if it was released in 1981.
