DC's SUPERGIRL Movie is Rumored To Feature Brainiac as The Villain

One of Warner Bros.’ main focus right now is getting a Supergirl movie made. That’s one of the reasons that was given as to why Henry Cavill and the studio decided to part ways on Superman. As of right now there are no plans for another Superman movie.

But today we have some information regarding the main villain in the planned Supergirl film. According to a rumor that spawned from SuperBroMovies' Daniel RPK, Brainiac could end up being the the big bad villain in the story.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this turned out to be true. Brainiac is a great DC villain that has yet to be brought to the big screen. He was supposed to be the villain in Kevin Smith, Tim Burton, and Nicolas Cage’s Superman Lives, but that never happened. He was also reportedly the planned villain for the sequel to Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns.

Brainiac has been implemented in the Krypton series and the Supergirl series has included Indigo and Brainiac-13, both of which have ties to Brainiac. He’a slo appeared in various DC animated projects. Just in case you need a little reminder of who Brainiac is:

A techno-organic being with a twelfth-level intellect and hyper-advanced technology, he travels the multiverse seeking civilizations to shrink and abduct, which he then adds to his collection of captured worlds. It would be great to see this character finally utilized in a film. I’d be up for Supergirl taking him on! What do you think?
