Deadly Scares Await in Trailer for Indie Horror Film THE HAUNTED FOREST
The trailer for the upcoming indie horror flick The Haunted Forest has been released, and it’s serving up some seriously eerie vibes.
The film follows Zach, a horror-obsessed high school senior who takes a job at his cousin’s infamous scare maze attraction. But when the screams of fake terror turn real, Zach finds himself caught in a deadly spiral of murder and paranoia.
The film was shot on location at Markoff’s Haunted Forest in Dickerson, Maryland, the longest scare trail in America, adding an authentic creep factor to the whole production.
Here’s the synopsis: “Zach (starring Grayson Gwaze) is a horror-movie obsessive who'd rather draw gruesome comic books in class than concentrate on his studies – so when his cousin Mark (Cedric Gegel) invites him to work at the legendary Haunted Forest, Zach is thrilled beyond belief.
“On his first night, he meets Sarah, a beautiful and intriguing makeup artist, as well as Jacko, a veteran employee who takes Zach under his wing. Zach is living his best life there, indulging his passion for all things morbid – but when Jacko is found dead, the magical world of the Forest begins to seem sinister, and Zach can't help but wonder where the killer will strike next...” Yeah, this one’s definitely going to get under your skin.
The Haunted Forest is written and directed by Keith Boynton, whose past work includes Chasing Home, Seven Lovers, The Scottish Play, and The Winter House. Produced by Cassie D'Agostino and Mashka Wolfe, the film stars Gwaze, Gegel, Kaitlyn Lunardi, and Meghan Reed.
With its eerie moody atmosphere and slasher-whodunit edge, this looks like it could be a fun ride for horror fans.
This chilling tale is set to premiere later this month at FrightFest 2025 in London.
