DEADPOOL 2 Has a Record Breaking $18.6 Million Preview Night Opening

Movie Deadpool 2 by Joey Paur

Deadpool 2 opened up with a bang with its Thursday-night preview opening! According to THR, the movie made $18.6 million which shatters the record of any R-rated film.

The previous record holder was held by the film adaptation of Stephen King's It ($13.5 million). Prior to It, the first Deadpool had the top preview gross for an R-rated film with $12.7 million. That first movie went on to debut to a massive $132.4 million, which is the best launch ever for an R-rated film. Deadpool 2 is on its way to breaking that record. The report says that it will easily win the weekend with a debut in the $130 million to $150 million range.

There's no doubt that Deadpool 2 is going to be huge! The movie turned out to be extremely funny and surprising in a lot of ways. I was laughing my ass off through most of the movie, but what I loved about it most was that through all the humor, violence, and vulgarity, there was a good story with heart.

it's crazy to think that 20th Century Fox avoided making this movie for so long because they didn't think people would see it.
