DEADPOOL 3 Is Described as a "Fish-Out-of-Water" Story

Deadpool screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have offered a little update on Deadpool 3 and shared some insight on the kind of story that it will tell. In a recent interview with Post Cred Pod, they were asked about the movie and Reese shared that it will be a "fish-out-of-water story." He explained:

"It’s a wonderful opportunity for fish-out-of-water. Deadpool is a lunatic at the center of a movie. Usually, the lunatics are the supporting characters and the protagonist is reasonably sane and our movie's flipped. To drop a lunatic into a very sane world, it’s straight butter. It’s going to be really fun."

The writers were then asked if there are any MCU characters or aspects of the MCU that they are looking forward to making fun of, and Reese replied:

"How many movies have they given us? We have a treasure trove of things to poke fun at and Deadpool's equal opportunity so everyone's fair game.

Damn… Deadpool 3 is going to be awesome! It’s really not hard to imagine the who fish out of water scenario as Deadpool is going to find himself in a whole new universe with the MCU and things are going to get very interesting.

The screenwriter previously said that Marvel Studios has been "very supportive" of the film's R rating. Shawn Levy is set to direct the film, and I can’t wait to see what he and his creative team deliver!
