DEADPOOL Creator Rob Liefeld Says an Animated Series Is Coming "Sooner Than Later"

I’m still bummed out by the fact that Donald Glover’s Deadpool animated series was canceled by Marvel. I think that he and his team would have delivered a hilarious series! Maybe it was just too good for producer Jeph Loeb and Marvel TV.

After that version of the series was canceled, Liefeld revealed that Marvel still wanted the series to happen. Obviously, Marvel wanted to take it in a different direction, though. The Deadpool creator previously said:

"When that went south, that was very, like, unfortunate. I think for all. But, I will not say who, but a Marvel executive did say: 'Don't worry, Robert, we're going to give you a Deadpool cartoon. It's still going to happen.'

While he liked what Glover was doing and wanted to make that show, Marvel wasn’t keen on it. He went on to say:

"Let me tell you that I have no inside information. I just know that look, Marvel is doing a great job of taking over the world right?"

Liefeld recently offered an update on the project revealing that this Deadpool animated series is coming sooner rather than later. Here’s the Tweet that he shared:

There’s no information on who the creative team developing this series is, but if it’s going to happen soon, they obviously have a crew in place working on it. I’m curious to know who is developing the show and how it will eventually turn out.

There’s a lot of great potential for a Deadpool animated series, and I hope they go all out with it and not hold anything back. They just need to go crazy with this thing!
