DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE Is Kicking Ass at the Box Office with $438.4 Million Opening!
The box office numbers for Deadpool & Wolverine are in and over the weekend it pulled in $438.3 million worldwide!
We all knew that this movie was going to be a massive box-office success. Bringing these two Marvel characters together for a big-screen adventure is what the fans have always wanted to see, and Marvel Studios delivered a great freakin’ film!
The Marvel Studios movie landed the eighth biggest opening of all time among any film and by far the biggest launch for an R-rated film, not adjusted for inflation. The movie also broke records for an R-rated movie on a global scale.
The film made $205 million at the domestic box office, and $233.3 million internationally. It’s the biggest July opening of all time, the biggest opening of 2024 so far, and the biggest launch since Spider-Man: No Way Home in December 2021.
Globally, it’s the biggest opening since Avatar: The Way of the Water. It also pushed Marvel’s MCU movies past the $30 billion mark in combined worldwide ticket sales. That makes Marvel the top-grossing franchise in history.
With these numbers, the Deadpool & Wolverine is pretty much guaranteed to break the billion dollar mark in the coming weeks.
