DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE is Officially The Highest Grossing R-Rated Movie of All Time
Before Deadpool & Wolverine was even released in theaters, we expected the movie to make over a billion dollars and become the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time. You didn’t need to be a professional analyst to know that was going to happen.
It is now official, Deadpool & Wolverine has broken the record and surpassed The Joker as the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time, and the fact that this is a Disney film is kind of hilarious.
Deadpool & Wolverine has grossed $1.086 billion worldwide with $516.8M from domestic and $568.8M from the international box office. For comparison, The Joker made $1.079 Billion.
This is pretty awesome, and since this movie made so much damn money, we know that Disney and Marvel are going to bring these characters back for more crazy action. What the future of these characters looks like in the MCU, though, has yet to be seen.
We can only hope that as Marvel continues to play with these characters, they will be smart with the choices they make and the direction they decide to take things.
