Deckard Goes Home in New BLADE RUNNER 2049 Footage From New Featurette
With the 35th anniversary of Blade Runner coming up this weekend, Entertainment Weekly has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette for the upcoming sequel, Blade Runner 2049. The featurette is called Blade Runner 2049: Time to Live, and it features nearly four minutes from the film along with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the cast and crew. It's definitely a must watch, especially if you're excited to see the movie! In regards to the production of the film, director Denis Villeneuve tells EW:
"We are running towards the finishing line right now. We are elated. It feels like Christmas as we look at the completed shots."
Harrison Ford talks a little bit about returning to the role of Deckard in the featurette saying:
"I think it’s kind of fun to play a character 30 years later. The story, the themes, the stunning visual environments — it was a pleasure to get back in the world of Blade Runner again."
Everything that I've seen from the film up to this point looks amazing. The visuals are simply stunning and the director managed to perfectly capture the tone of the original film.
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard, a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
The movie also stars Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Ana de Armas, Mackenzie Davis, Sylvia Hoeks, and Barkhad Abdi. It's set to be released in theaters on October 6th, which can't get here soon enough!
