Deleted Scenes From THOR: RAGNAROK Features The Grandmaster Explaining Universal Gestures and Alien Bats
A couple of new deleted scenes from Thor: Ragnarok have popped up online for your viewing enjoyment. Both of them feature the lovable Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster.
The first video shows Grandmaster instructing Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) to find Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). Grandmaster waves his hand to signify that Loki and Valkyrie need to leave, but neither of them seems to initially understand that. The rest of the scene plays out like a game of charades. Goldblum mimes different "universal symbols" to Topaz (Rachel House).
The second clip features the ruler of Sakaar getting annoyed by some type of alien bats that are swarming around as he makes The God of Thunder's acquaintance.
Writers of the film say the Grandmaster role was almost completely different when it was unclear if Goldblum would take the part.
"There are so many different ways you can go with that character. He could be a power-hungry monster. Or he's cool and vindictive. And they're like, 'We're going to Jeff Goldblum.' And I'm like, 'Got it.' And then at one point they came back and said it's not going to work out. I’m like, 'No! Who's going to do all this now?'"
Golblum eventually signed on for the role, and brought so much color and insanity to Ragnarok.
Thor: Ragnarok will be released on Digital HD on February 20, while the Blu-ray arriving in stores on March 6.
