Delightful GOONIES II Fan Film Offers us a Look at What The Sequel Could Be
There's been talk of a sequel to The Goonies for years. At one point director Richard Donner and Steven Spielberg actually made us believe that it was really close to happening. Unfortunately, I doubt it will happen at this point. But that doesn't mean the fans can't have some fun playing around with the possibility of a sequel, and that's exactly what the gang at Movie Nerds did.
They created a Goonies II fan film that gives us one of many options of how the story could play out. This is a a new web series that they've started called "Sequeled", which "takes a look at what could be! Sequels to some of the greatest movies ever made that truly deserved one more story. We pitch our idea of what we think could make a fun sequel in 3 scenes!"
The first episode is The Goonies II. Watch how the short film plays out and let us know if you like the direction that they take the story. There are elements presented in it that I do like, especially the reveal of a second pirate ship that is manned by the dead. Check it out!
