Dennis Lehane's GONE BABY GONE is Getting a TV Series Adaptation

Fox is developing a new TV series based on author Dennis Lehane's 1998 novel Gone Baby Gone. This would be the second time the story has been adapted. Back in 2007, Casey Affleck and Michelle Monaghan starred in the Ben Affleck directed film.

I thought the movie was great but it's not hard to imagine the story being adapted into a series. A series will give more of an opportunity to explore the characters more in depth and tell different stories involving the two characters.

Fox has ordered a pilot episode and it will be written by Robert Levine (Black Sails, Touch, Human Target, Judging Amy. Lehane will serve as an executive producer on the project, the story of which revolves around private detectives Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro who, "armed with their wits, street knowledge and undeniable chemistry, right the wrongs that the law can't in a working-class Boston borough of Dorchester."

The film focused on the two private investigators trying to find and solve the mystery of a little girl who was abducted from a Boston neighborhood. That is just one of many different stories that I imagine the series will tell.

I enjoy these kinds of crime stories and I think this will make for a great crime series if done right.

Angie (Michelle Monaghan) becomes worried that the investigation into Amanda's disappearance will have negative repercussions on her relationships.
