Dennis Quaid and Madalen Mills Join Queen Latifah in Indie Drama THE TIGER RISING
Dennis Quaid (Innerspace, Frequency) and newcomer Madalen Mills have joined the already cast Queen Latifah (Chicago, Girls Trip) in the book to film adaptation of The Tiger Rising. The film is being directed by Ray Giarratana, who also wrote the screenplay, from the 2001 children’s book, written by Kate DiCamillo. Variety reports the following synopsis of the story:
“Tiger Rising” centers on a reserved 12-year-old boy who has just lost his mother and meets a full-grown Bengal tiger hidden in the Florida woods, held captive by the mean-spirited motel owner, played by Quaid. Latifah plays a mysterious maid and Mills will portray the stubborn new girl in school. The boy must decide whether to set the tiger free and in turn uncage his emotional grief.
No other casting has been reported at this time. The film is currently in pre-production. Are you interested in The Tiger Rising?
