Dennis Quaid Will Star in the Netflix Comedy MERRY HAPPY WHATEVER

I feel like Dennis Quaid is making an odd comeback in my life. I haven’t even heard his name in a long time, but within the last month I saw the trailer for A Dog’s Jouney and now he’s going to be the lead for Netflix’s comedy Merry Happy Whatever. The first season will run for eight episodes and was created by Tucker Cawley.

Quaid will play Don Quinn, a strong-willed patriarch who has to balance the demands of his complicated family with the stress of the Christmas season when his youngest daughter brings home a new boyfriend. The first season will be set in the week around Christmas; future seasons could explore other holidays.

In addition to creating the series, Cawley will serve as showrunner and one of the executive producers alongside Quaid, Aaron Kaplan, Dana Honor, and Wendi Trilling. The show’s director will be Pamela Fryman.

I’m a little worried that the show is too limited in scope in terms of when it is set, but maybe it’ll surprise me. Are you interested in checking out Merry Happy Whatever when it launches on Netflix?
