Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand to Star in Director Joel Coen's MACBETH
William Shakespeare’s classic story Macbeth is getting another film adaptation. This one will be directed by Joel Coen of the Coen Brothers (The Big Lebowski, Fargo, No Country For Old Men), and Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand are in talks to star in it.
It’s a little strange to see that Joel Coen will be directing a film without his brother. They always make movies together, but I guess this is a project that he was interested in taking on alone. Which is great! I am a big fan of the film work he has done, and I’m sure that this will end up being a wonderfully interesting adaptation of Macbeth.
The iconic Shakespeare tale follows “a lord (Washington) who’s convinced by a trio of witches that he’s destined to become the king of Scotland. With the help of his ambitious wife (McDormand), Macbeth tries to seize the crown by any means necessary.”
Does this sound like an adaption of Macbeth that you’d be interested in watching?
