The Destiny 2 reveal is here, and they have unloaded so much on us. Bungie has done it again with making the hype so intense, people are going crazy. I won’t be going into detail about everything, just a quick overview of what is happening now and what will be happening in the future.

1. Season Of Arrivals

The Pyramid Ships are here. They will be arriving at various planets and we need to deal with them. With a new activity, new armor, a new exotic quest, and more, this season is like a prelude to what is coming in the fall.

2. Prophecy Dungeon

Releasing on Tuesday, June 9th, a new dungeon exploring the world of The Nine is open. With new gear to obtain and a mind-bending location, it looks to be quite the place to explore and enjoy.

3. Beyond Light

Europa, The Deep Stone Crypt, and new Fallen leader who is ready to take revenge on guardians and the light. Beyond light will include lots of new content, a new planet, a new story, a new raid, and more. This will be our descent into darkness and the fight against other powerful evils that wield it.

4. New Element: Stasis

This will be the first-ever new element added to Destiny. Stasis seems to be darkness manifested in ice like abilities. But it isn’t just supers and abilities, armor and weapon elemental types will start to have the stasis element. We don’t have too much information, but adding this brings a massive new layer into the game as a whole.

5. 2021 The Witch Queen, 2022 Lightfall

Bungie comes right out and shows that there will not be any Destiny 3 any time soon. The Witch Queen is the name of the expansion for 2021 and Lightfall is the working title for 2022’s expansion. They explain a bit about how the story will progress in the large darkness arc. And again, this shows their commitment to bringing massive new content to the world of Destiny, but that means some might have to go away, bringing us to number 6.

5. Destiny Content Vault

Starting this fall, Bungie will be retiring older, less-used content into something called the Destiny Content Vault. But, this stuff isn’t gone forever. With each new expansion release, old content will be stowed away and some amount of legacy content from Destiny and Destiny 2 will come back. This fall we’ll be losing Mars, Io, Titan, and Mercury. But we will also be gaining the D1 Cosmodrome, and then, later in year 4, we’ll be getting the Vault of Glass raid. As sad as it is to be losing a slew of planets, Destiny isn’t an infinite world, and to bring in new stuff, old stuff needs to be removed.

This is basically it. There is a lot to take in, and a lot to understand. But they will explain a lot more as the summer goes on and we explore the new season. Let us know what you’re excited about and are looking forward to playing in the future!
