Details on Donald Glover's Animated DEADPOOL Series Which He Was Writing While Shooting HAN SOLO

Donald Glover is keeping himself insanely busy between working on Atlanta, the Han Solo movie, and the Deadpool animated series. He's managing to get it all done, though! In fact, it was recently revealed that he was writing Deadpool with his brother Stephen while he was shooting Han Solo!

While speaking with the Television Critics Association, FX CEO John Landgraf gave an update on the series and teased what we can expect from it.

“They had a staff working in London while Donald was shooting Star Wars. He wrote the second season of Atlanta before London, had a staff in London, he’s coming back to shoot Atlanta season 2 and simultaneously we’ll be animating Deadpool.”

Thankfully Landgraf was accommodating when it came to Glover's crazy schedule.

“Working with talent, you don’t want to squelch their [opportunities]. You don’t want to say don’t do the Star Wars movie and play the first African-American character in cinema who inspired you when you were young. You want to figure it out so we juggle people’s schedules.”

He goes on to say that the upcoming Deadpool animated series will not be what the moves are. It will be a very different project that will stand apart and reflect Glover's style.

“It’ll be really different from the movies. It’s animated and they’re live-action, but also it has a different tone and editorial voice as evidenced by Donald and Stephen Glover, who have their own voice and tone. We really wanted to make something that was distinctly different from the movies.”

FX also teases a. brief teaser clip from the series that /Film describes as showing "the animated Deadpool jumped on a moving car." There's no word on when the series will premiere, they are just focused on making a great series right now.
