How Will the Classic Spider-Man Villain Venom Will Be Introduced to the MCU?

Before I jump into this, if you haven’t watch Spider-Man: No Way Home yet, you might want to skip this because I use some spoiler details from that film to discuss some things regarding how Venom will be introduced into the MCU

I’m sure you’re all aware of the post-credits scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage when Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and Venom end up in the MCU, the same universe where Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man, resides. Venom quickly becomes obsessed with Spider-Man and wants to meet him.

Well, that post-credits scene was followed up with a post-credits scene from Spider-Man: No Way Home, which saw Eddie Brock sitting in a bar in Mexico learning about all the superheroes in the MCU and Eddie just isn’t getting it. He’s acting super confused about the whole thing, but his Venom inner voice is loving it.

It’s during this conversation at the bar that Doctor Strange closes the multiverse and Eddie and Venom end up going back to their own universe. They are no longer in the MCU, but a piece of the Venom symbiote is somehow left behind behind and starts to cowl on the bar.

This symbiote being left behind leaves the door wide open for a new version of Venom to be introduced into the MCU, and it won’t be Hardy’s version of the character. It’s looking like Hardy’s Venom and Holland’s Spider-Man won’t be facing off after all. But, it’s good to know that we will be getting a version of Venom in the MCU, and I’m curious to see what is being planned for this character.

I’m curious to see who the symbiote will end up latching onto in this universe. The only person in the bar at the time was the bartender, who was played by Ted Lasso actor Cristo Fernandez. He could be the first person it latches onto, and if it does it could might just be for a limited time before moving to someone else. Who knows!?

I think it would be interesting if the symbiote eventually made it’s way to Spider-Man and latched onto him. That very well could happen. It would also be interesting to see the symbiote eventually land on Flash Thompson as he’s been heavily featured in these films. Flash does get the symbiote in the comics, and there is some groundwork that has already been laid out for a future movie based on Spider-Man and a version of Agent Venom. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Regardless of who the symbiote attaches itself to, the most important thing is that it is now officially crawling around in the MCU, and it won't be long before we see a new version of Venom make its MCU debut.

There might be one plot hole with this whole thing involving Venom. All the villains who came through and wanted to come through knew who Spider-Man was. Hardy’s version of Venom wasn’t familiar with Spider-Man at all, so why would they have come through? They didn’t know about Spider-Man until after they were in the MCU.

There is a line in the film where Venom says to Eddie, “80 billion light years of hive knowledge across universes would explode your tiny little brain.” So I guess the symbiote has some kind of knowledge of Peter? What do you think?
