Details on How GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Fit Into AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

As you know, we've been bombarded by a ton of news for Avengers: Infinity War, all of which leads to the new long-awaited trailer being released today. We now have some information regarding the Guardians of the Galaxy and how they will fit into the story.

The fans are extremely excited to see the Guardians interact with the rest of the Avengers. There's sure to be a lot of awesome and humorous moments that come from it. While talking to directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, they explain that they had to figure out a way of bringing the familiar tone of these character over to Infinity War as they mix them up with the other characters.

"We have to find a way to bring those tones and honor them. But also make them work with what we’re doing with the movie. Again, I think the way that we find the best way to do that is to filter these things through our very personal expression of them as characters, it’s not dissimilar to what we did with ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ there is a movement of the characters towards a more ‘Russo brothers’ execution."

Then there's the whole timeline that they have to take into account. The first two Guardians of the Galaxy films take place within six months of each other somewhere around 2014. With Avengers: Infinity War taking place in 2018, there's four years worth of time and adventures that the Guardians have gone through, and in that time I'm sure there have been some changes to the heroes, which Anthony Russo confirms and explains:

"There are some changes. But I think changes are about chemistry and about camaraderie and the fact that they’re closer, and they’re tighter, and they’ve been doing it for a while. That’s, if there’s any change, it’s in that when they may or may not intersect with the Avengers in this movie, they have cemented their chemistry as a team."

Joe Russo adds that "The relationships have deepened" and Anthony says that "they would stand in contrast with the other teams. Potentially."

This will give them a huge advantage over The Avengers because as you know, The Avengers team are at odds with each other. They don't have that same strong bond that the Guardians have.

There's sure to be a very emotional element in the team as well for the fact that Gamora and Nebula's dad Thanos is on a mission to take out half of the universe and they are in a position where they will be forced to confront and fight him. I can't help but think that will be brutal.

Avengers: Infinity War arrives in theaters on April 27.
