Details on Why Ruby Rose Exited The CW's BATWOMAN Series

Fans of The CW DC series Batwoman were surprised to learn earlier this week that its star, Ruby Rose, quit the series. The news came after it was announced that the series was given a second season. The series will still move forward, but it will feature a different actress in the cape and cowl.

There was no reason given by Rose or the producers of the series as to why she left, but THR has shed some light on that thanks to their inside sources.

According to the report, “Rose was unhappy with the long hours required of her as the series lead, which led to friction on the set. It was thus decided by her and the network and studio, Warner Bros. Television, that they would part ways.”

So, there ya have it. She just didn’t like the long hours of work that was required of her. I guess she won’t be taking the lead role of any TV series again anytime soon. Maybe taking on the supporting roles she’s played over the course of her career is that sweet spot for her.

I liked Rose in the role of Batwoman, so it sucks to see her go. But, I’m sure her career will be fine and It’ll be interesting to see who is brought in to replace her. Berlanti Productions said they would be seeking “a new lead actress and member of the LGBTQ community, in the coming months.”
