Dev Patel Will Make His Directorial Debut with MONKEY MAN

Dev Patel, who is best known from Slumdog Millionaire, Lion, and The Newsroom is going behind the camera for his next film.

He will direct an upcoming action revenge film called Monkey Man. He will also be starring in the film which will be based in Mumbai. What’s even cooler is that it is said to be “steeped in Indian mythology” according to THR.

“Steeped in mythology, the film will be set in a vibrant modern India and will follow the Kid (Patel), who emerges from prison to take on a world awash in corporate greed and eroding spiritual values. ”

I’m very interested to see Patel in this role and to see his vision as a director. Patel wrote the script alongside Paul Angunawela and John Collee. His fourth role in the making of this film is that Patel will be producing it with Basil Iwanyk, Samarth Sahni, and Joe Thomas.

Word has it that Monkey Man will begin production in the spring of 2019 in Mumbai.
