DeWanda Wise Leaves CAPTAIN MARVEL
A couple of months ago, we learned that the She’s Gotta Have It star DeWanda Wise was going to have a role in the upcoming Marvel film, Captain Marvel. Unfortunately, Deadline is now reporting that due to scheduling conflicts with the Netflix series, Wise is having to leave Captain Marvel. We were never told what her role in Captain Marvel was, and I imagine that now we’ll never know. The big question now is, who will replace her? No replacement has been announced yet and since we don’t know what role Wise was filling, it’s hard for us to fan-cast.
Captain Marvel will star Brie Larson and we don’t know much about the plot, but we know that she will be Air Force pilot Carol Danvers. Danvers’ DNA is fused with alien DNA which results in her getting superpowers! Samuel L. Jackson will reprise his role as Nick Fury, Jude Law will be the lead male role, and Ben Mendelsohn is the villain.
Captain Marvel is scheduled to be released March 8, 2019.
