DEXTER's Michael C. Hall Joins Netflix's THE CROWN
Netflix's The Crown really isn't a geek-centric series, but it's actually really great and worth watching if you haven't already done so. The series basically centers on a young Queen Elizabeth and her story of becoming the Queen of England. I know that may not sounds like something you're interested in, but it's good! It won two Golden Globes last month. One for best drama series and the other for best actress, Claire Foy.
Anyway, I'll stop trying to talk you into it. Dexter star Michael C. Hall will be joining season two, and he will be taking on the role of John F. Kennedy. That seems like fantastic casting! He'll be joined by Quarry star Jodi Balfour, who will be playing Jackie Kennedy.
The drama "will segue into the 1960s, as Queen Elizabeth II loses her third prime minister to scandal amidst the illegal use of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces in Egypt."
Matthew Goode (Watchmen) also joined the to the cast as Lord Snowden, who is the husband of Princess Margaret (Vanessa Kirby). When previously talking about season two, creator Peter Morgan said that it will end in 1964.
“We leave behind a certain kind of Britain and we enter a new Britain. At the end of Season 2, we will have to start thinking about a new cast because our cast will reach a limit about what they can play.”
There are currently six seasons planned for the series, and the main roles will eventually have to be re-cast so that it remains authentic to the characters’ aging.
