Diane Lane Issues Statement Regarding Her Controversial JUSTICE LEAGUE Comments

While DCEU actress Diane Lane was a guest on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, she was asked if she could reveal any Justice League movie spoilers and if the movie was better than The Avengers. She gave the following reply that stirred up a little controversy among fans:

"No, and no. Short but honest - I hate to disappoint, but..."

This was taken in the context of "no" she could not reveal any spoilers, and "no" Justice League is not better than The Avengers. That was followed by "I hate to disappoint", which was taken as "I hate to disappoint, but it's the truth."

Well, the actress has issued a statement through her representatives clarifying these comments. That statement reads:

"Diane meant "sorry to disappoint" in reference to revealing anything concerning 'Justice League' that is not already out in the public, and, was declining to comment on a film (Avengers) that she has not seen.

She is thrilled to continue her role as Martha Kent, and appreciates your excitement for Justice League.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to clarify this."

So there you have it. She hasn't even seen The Avengers, so she can't really even judge. I guess when you're put on the spot and asked a couple questions like that, she felt saying no to both of them was the safe way out. In this instant, it sounds like it got blown out of proportion.

What do you think?
