Diane Kruger, Jessica Lange, and Alan Cumming Among Cast Members Joining Liam Neeson's Detective Thriller MARLOWE

Liam Neeson’s upcoming noir thriller Marlowe has just cemented a list of actors to join the action star in the detective thriller based on the novel The Black-Eyed Blonde by John Banville, which is about Philip Marlowe, a character originally created by Raymond Chandler, who is often credited with creating the hard-boiled detective fiction genre.

Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds), Jessica Lange (Tootsie), Alan Cumming (Broadway’s Cabaret), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (His Dark Materials), Danny Huston (The Aviator), Ian Hart (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone), Colm Meaney (Con Air), Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad), and Francois Arnaud (The Borgias) have joined the cast. Kruger is set to play the role of Clare Cavendish, the femme-fatale who jump-starts the plot by hiring Neeson’s Marlowe. Oscar-winner Jessica Lange will be playing Kruger’s mother, the notorious and charming Dorothy Cavendish.

Here’s the synopsis:

When bad business and loneliness start to take their toll on private detective Philip Marlowe (Neeson), a beautiful blonde arrives and asks him to find her ex-lover, which proves to be just a small part of a bigger mystery. The character of Marlowe is perhaps best remembered from the highly influential 1946 noir film The Big Sleep starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall.

This sounds like it will be a great movie with a great cast. The film is being directed by Neil Jordan (The Borgia’s, Greta) from a screenplay adapted by William Monahan (The Departed, The Gambler). Are you looking forward to Marlowe?
