Did Michael Pena Confirm a Third ANT-MAN Movie?

When I watched Ant-Man, I wasn’t sure how I felt about Michael Pena’s character. He both annoyed me and made me laugh with the way that he explained things. After watching the movie, I finally landed on liking the sense of humor that he brought to the table and I’m excited to see him in Ant-Man and the Wasp later this year. What’s even more interesting though, is a little tidbit that Pena may have dropped during an interview with IGN about 12 Strong. During the interview, Pena states:

We talked about it on the first day. It’s a whole different kind of club to be in, the Marvel Universe. I don’t know if they’ll use me for the third movie, I still really don’t know. It’s cool to make a little bit of a mark on that Marvel Universe and it’s kind of a cool club, they run a really cool studio.

In the interview, he does mention not asking Chris Hemsworth for a role in a Thor movie and regretting it. Maybe “the third movie” just implies that he’s scheduled for Infinity War or another movie outside of Ant-Man. Maybe he’s trying to throw us off? I find these to be very unlikely scenarios. I think this points to either a third Ant-Man movie, or he’ll be in one of the Infinity War movies (remember, it’s going to be two parts). What are your thoughts on this bomb? Was it an accidental slip or on purpose?

Ant-Man and the Wasp comes to theaters on July 6, 2018.
