Did STAR WARS: SKELETON CREW Confirm CAPTAIN EO Is Part of the STAR WARS Universe?

When I was a kid, one of my favorite things to do at Disneyland was to watch Michael Jackson’s 3D movie Captain EO. I loved that freakin’ movie!

Well, as I was rewatching Star Wars: Skeleton Crew with my daughter, I noticed something that I didn’t catch the first time around, and as soon as I saw it, I jumped online to see if anyone else spotted it to confirm what I saw.

I found that, yes! It was exactly what I thought it was, and it connects Captain EO to the Star Wars universe!

In Episode 2 of Skeleton Crew, the kids find themselves in a place that pirates hang out and while exploring the place, one of the children discovers a stall selling various exotic creatures in cages.

One of the creatures is the same species as Fuzzball from Captain EO! This is the small flying alien who is part of Captain EO’s crew!

George Lucas is co-write and produce Captain EO, so it wouldn’t be out of the question that Captain EO might be set in a different corner of the Star Wars universe.

Or, the creators of Skelton Crew just threw the little fuzzball in as an Easter egg for fans like me to discover and there’s nothing more to it than that. Either way, it’s pretty cool that they included the creature! I’d personally like to think they are part of the same universe.

I included a video for you below showing footage of the fuzzball from Skeleton Crew.
