Did You See That? RWBY Volume 7 Episode 4

I know I’m a little late on this one for Rooster Teeth First Members, but the holiday last week threw me off a little. We’re talking about the fourth episode of RWBY Volume 7 today, so please, no spoilers in the comments. If you haven’t seen the episode, feel free to stop reading this article and circle back around after doing so.

“Pomp and Circumstance” really tells you everything you need to know about the episode. The heroes finally graduate! That’s right, Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang, Jaune, Nora, and Ren are given their official Huntsman and Huntress licenses. This makes them legit! They celebrate and have some cake and just talk for a bit. Ruby talks to Qrow about Summer’s final mission, and we learn that it was not a mission for Ozpin, but rather a personal one. WHAT WAS IT!?

Then, Ace Ops has some fun and helps the new huntsmen and huntresses take their first official jobs. Jaune ends up with some more trivial stuff as a joke, and everyone has a laugh and enjoys some levity.

The other pieces of the story for the episode involve the evil Jacque Schnee, Weiss’s father. He arrives at the mine that the heroes were clearing out in the previous episode furious. Ironwood stands up to him and says that since it was a military matter, the Atlas Council didn’t need to vote on anything about it. Schnee is apparently running for a seat on the council and is not a fan of Ironwood. This happens before the graduation ceremony.

After the graduation ceremony and the partying, we cut back to Schnee, and he gets a special guest. Arthur Watts arrives at his home and starts meeting with him. Schnee sounds a little flustered at this and is surprised as Watts is apparently supposed to be dead. This cannot lead to anything good. This meeting is only going to cause trouble.

I’m waiting to see when we’ll get to meet Robin. I also want to see what Maria’s been up to the past little bit. This episode was fine and it had its place, but I’m ready for the next episode now and for more of that delicious story.
