Did You See That? RWBY Volume 7 Episode 7
A new episode of RWBY has been released and I thought it was really cool. If you haven’t watched the episode, stop reading, bookmark this page, and come back after you watch it. There are spoilers coming up.
This episode starts with Ironwood, Winter, Clover, Qrow, Ruby, Nora, and Ren talking in Ironwood’s office. Robyn has stolen more supplies for Amnity Tower meaning they can’t complete it. Obviously, Ironwood’s on edge about everything going on as are the other characters. Winter suggests Marshall Law for the time being on Mantle and Nora is not having it. She is getting to be a very interesting character with a lot more depth than previous seasons. Oddly, when Ironwood leaves, Ren strongly says “yes, sir” in the same manner as a soldier. This is probably going to cause some more friction between the couple.
We also see a depressed Penny trying to deal with everything going on and the events of the other night at Robyn’s party. Of course, people are not liking Penny anymore because of some doctored footage by Watts. We then learn a little bit more about her and it made me tear up for a minute. Pietro apparently gives Penny part of his Aura. He tells us a bit more of the history of Penny and holds a picture. Interestingly enough, his thumb covers up a face. When the face is eventually uncovered, it is none other than Watts! I was thinking about it though and there’s no way any of the heroes would’ve recognized Watts anyway, so I guess it’s not a big deal whether or not they saw the face.
I’m just going to cut to the coolest part of the episode in my opinion and that is what Yang and Blake are up to. They’re in a transport of goods waiting to see if Robyn attacks their transport, but after talking it over, they decide they want to let Robyn in. They want to end the secrets and I fully support them. Luckily, Robyn attacks their truck and after some heavy chasing, they catch up to Robyn and explain things as best they can in a brief amount of time. We then learn that Robyn’s semblance is a lie detector and she’s able to see that the two huntresses aren’t lying.
At the end of the episode, we see Oscar and Ironwood chat and Oscar gives some good advice about not going about this alone. We then end with Ironwood getting a letter to have a dinner with Jacque Schnee to defend his seat on the counsel. WHAT!?!?
This is setting up some things that I hope are really cool. I think we will see some really cool things from this season as it unfolds, but it does annoy me how stubborn Ironwood is being. Although, my wife did point out that he’s being a little heartless like the Tin Man. Get it?
