Did You See That? RWBY Volume 7 Episode 8

Thanks to the holidays, I’m getting this one up a little late, but now I’m here to talk about the latest episode of RWBY. If you haven’t seen the latest episode, there are spoilers ahead. Be sure to come back once you’ve seen it.

This episode doesn’t have much going on outside of setting up the next episode. Team RWBY, Team JNR, Qrow, Clover, Winter, Penny, and Ironwood arrive to the Schnee manor so that the latter four in that list can “enjoy” a dinner with Jacque Schnee, Robyn Hill, and the other members of the Atlas council. Neither Robyn nor Ironwood understand why she’s here as she is not part of the council, but my theory is that Jacque wants to remove Ironwood and therefore to help placate the other council members, offer Robyn a seat in his stead. I’m not sure on the motives going on other than Jacque is now working with Arthur Watts which means he’s working with Salem, but like I said, there’s not a whole lot going on this episode.

As far as everyone else, they’re enjoying the party being thrown by Jacque. Weiss is supposed to go sneaking around, but her brother gets in the way. With some quick thinking, everyone else is able to cause some mayhem that results in Whitley leaving. This allows Weiss to go sneaking around hopefully in order to find out what’s going on with her father. This is when we meet Weiss’s mother Willow. Her mother appears to be drunk (maybe?) and helps Weiss a little. Will they finally learn?

During the dinner with Jacque, Winter loses her cool and ends up playing a little into his hand. She then excuses herself and walks out. Penny then joins her for a bit, and they have a very awkward exchange where things between the two are not great.

Also, Qrow has to excuse himself from the party after being offered a drink. Good for him sticking to his new goal of being sober!

Like I said, not much happens here, but I don’t think it’ll be long before we see the conclusion to this episode where things will actually happen.
