Did You See That? RWBY Volume 7 Episode 9

The last episode of RWBY was all about build-up, and this episode was the payoff! We’re going to be talking about the latest episode of RWBY, and if you haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, this is your warning that spoilers are ahead.

This time on RWBY, the council of Atlas is really coming down on Ironwood. They want some more transparency from him. Jacques Schnee has played his cards well, but it is interesting to see he gets nervous partway through after receiving some news. Robyn reveals that she knows about Amnity Communication Tower, much to Ironwood’s surprise. He tries hiding a little bit more when Robyn decides they should use her semblance to make sure he’s being 100% truthful. At this very moment, Weiss barges in to show everyone some surveillance of Jacques with Arthur Watts who they all thought was dead. This completely changes everything, and suddenly Jacques is in the hot seat. This is when my favorite part of the episode happens. Weiss pulls out her huntress license, says Jacques is under arrest, and then asks Ironwood if she’s allowed to do this.

Well, Mantle has lost their heating and is now rioting causing lots of Grimm to swarm the city. Word reaches everyone at the party, and finally, Ironwood agrees to tell the council and Robyn everything. Then, all the hunters and huntresses head out to help defend Mantle. Ruby and Oscar decide that he should tell Ironwood while she joins the others in going to Mantle. Everything is in the open! No more secrets! YAY!

Of course, this isn’t where the episode ends though. The camera seems to fix on a random server with green eyes and dark hair. I immediately realized that this was Neo and got excited. She and Cinder have been very quiet this season, but after their scene, they’ve clearly been up to something. The question is, what are they planning?

I am also now worried that Whitley’s going to be a problem. He sees his father, Jacques, get taken away and into custody which can’t be great. Especially when you consider the fact he’s a bit of a brat, and I’m really worried something’s going to happen with him. I do hope that Willow is able to find peace though. I always got the vibe that she was abused in some way.

Finally, I feel like Maria is being underutilized. The catch is that I don’t know how I’d use her more. I just miss her.
