DIE HARD Has Been Turned Into an Awesome Children's Christmas Book

Die Hard is easily one of the best Christmas movies that has ever been made. It may be an unconventional Christmas movie that you can't really watch with your kids, but that didn't stop comedian Doogie Horner from taking the story and turning it into a children's Christmas book!

A Die Hard Christmas: The Illustrated Holiday Classic, was written by Horner, and illustrated by JJ Horner. It was inspired by the classic Christmas poem, Twas the Night Before Christmas. Only instead of telling the story of Santa’s attempts to deliver presents to kids, the book tells the classic tale of a New York police officer single-handedly takes down a gang of European terrorists who have taken hostages at Nakatomi Plaza. Here's the book description:

A delightful Christmas tale based on the action-packed Die Hard movie

All John McClane wants for Christmas is to reunite with his estranged family. But when his wife’s office holiday party turns into a deadly hostage situation, he has to save her life before he can get home in time for Christmas!

The unconventional fan-favorite movie Die Hard is now an illustrated storybook—complete with machine guns, European terrorists, and a cop who’s forced to rely on all his cunning and skills (and the help of a fellow officer) to save the day. Based on the classic “Night Before Christmas” poem and filled with whimsical illustrations, this cleverly reimagined homage is destined to become a holiday classic.

This is definitely something that I'd enjoy reading in front of the fireplace with the family while drinking hot cocoa and eating cookies on Christmas Eve! However, the kid's book does stay true to the violence that we see in the movie. Regardless, it might be the best way to introduce your kids to John McClane and the Die Hard franchise... right? Or is that bad parenting? Do what you want! I won't judge!

The book will be available on October 17th and can be ordered here.
