Diego Luna Shares New Details Regarding His Cassian Andor STAR WARS Series

The Mandalorian got Star Wars fans pretty hyped up about the future of the live-action shows that are being produced for Disney+. It proved that the quality and production value of these projects are going to be top-notch. The Rogue One prequel series that focuses on Cassian Andor will be the next series to be released. While it may not seem as exciting as The Mandalorian, I do hope that the show ends up telling a great story.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight (via CBM), the show’s star Diego Luna excitedly talked about it and revealed a few details on the series, which he says will begin production later this year, and he also reveals that he will be digitally de-aged in some parts of the series.

”We are doing it this year. It’s happening, and I’m getting ready for it. It is really cool to tell a story where you already know the ending. It is a different approach because of the beauty and it’s how things happen. It’s not just what happens. It’s not the typical way of approaching a story. It’s about how things happen, which in fact, is the same that happened in Rogue One. You know the ending, but you don’t know how it happened, and we have that challenge in front of us again, which is exciting.”

The series will follow the early adventures of rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion and prior to the events of Rogue One. It’s been said that the series is a spy thriller that will explore tales of espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.

Alan Tudyk will be joining Luna in the series as he will reprise his role as the former Imperial enforcer droid K-2SO. The series is being developed by showrunner Stephen Schaffer (The Americans) and Tony Gilroy, who directed the reshoots for Rogue One, worked on the pilot episode for the series and has been tapped to direct several episodes.
